As part of our ongoing focus on multi-cultural lessons the preschool classes performed a few experiments that had their foundations in pointing out differences and similarities. The children were asked a few questions such as: "What do you think this white egg looks like on the inside?" "Do you think it will look the same as the brown egg when we crack it open?" and "What about the different colored apples, do you think that they taste the same on the inside?" The children speculated and made their guesses. Some were surprised by the results, and some of the children were proved correct, but in the end the lesson was that even though we may look different on the outside we are all the same on the inside. |
