As part or our continuing emphasis on Early America and the manner in which the settlers banded together to both survive and flourish, our Toddler class created a "Friendship Soup." Working together to explore the tastes and textures of the different vegetables that they each contributed to their class soup reinforces the underlying idea of the importance of community and the role that being a part of a larger community plays within each of our own lives. Our center will revisit this idea on an ongoing basis throughout the Holiday season as we work to support our community through the collection of toys for Toys for Tots, warm winter clothes for Coats for Kids, and food donations for the struggling families in our community. Make sure to watch for signs in our center announcing the beginnings of these various "drives." |
